If you are visiting Stockholm for the first time, you might get a little bit confused by the high number of airports in the city. Stockholm, which is the capital of Sweden, has four airports.
All these airports serve international and European domestic flights, meaning that your Stockholm-bound airline could be destined to land on any of these airports.
Considering this, it is important to have first-hand information about these airports before planning your trip.
The four Stockholm airports include:
- Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN)
- Stockholm Bromma Airport (BMA)
- Stockholm Vasteras Airport (VST)
- Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO)
Stockholm Arlanda Airport
Stockholm Arlanda is undeniably the largest and busiest international airport not only in the city but also in the entire country. The airport lies approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of the city center.
It boasts of four terminals for domestic, regional and international flights. The advanced infrastructure further highlights it capability of handling over 20 million travelers every year.

Stockholm Arlanda has a high-speed, express train service known as the Arlanda Express. The train departs from the airport to the city center every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night.
Passengers can board the Arlanda Express using platforms 1 and 2 underneath the arrival terminals. The Express train takes only 20 minutes between the Arlanda Airport and Stockholm Central Station
