The Peninsula Hong Kong Spa by Madelyn Miller Just staying in the Peninsula in Hong Kong is a pampering experience in itself. Regularly rated as a top hotel in Hong Kong, as well as usually listed as one of the top three hotels in the world, the Peninsula excels in both facilities and guest services. So it is no surprise that the Spa is world class. The theme is Roman, with a waterfall flowing into the pool. But the most visually spectacular part of the Spa is the view of the water from the sun loungers. Because the health spa is on the 8th floor, there is a breathtaking view of the water. There is a salon operated by Clarins, plus face and body treatments. Clarins' serious commitment to ecological issues, has led them to create products using ingredients from nature's own precious resource. Their cell-extract treatments offer cell-based formulations to preserve youthful-looking beauty. Their Marine extract products include sea algae which absorbs solar energy and filters sea water and condenses precious active elements into their tissue. These elements can be directly and immediately absorbed by the skin. Other ingredients are used in facials or massages at the Peninsula Spa, the skins seem softer and more supple. The treatments preserve the qualities of youthful looking skin, and delays the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
But I think, just being in this delightful setting makes you feel youthful, without a care in the world. That combined with a great massage, a dip in the whirlpool, a yummy snack of vegetable juices, power shakes, smoothees and herbal fruit drinks is the closest thing to heaven I can imagine. (The Peninsula Spa is also the "highest" or "tallest" Spa I've ever seen). Back to TravelLady Magazine |
