Peek Inside the KitchenWith Your Favorite Celebrity Chefs "Inside the Kitchen," a weekend dedicated to enjoying and learning about extraordinary wine and food at the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, will take place October 28 to 30, 2005. The three-day event features renowned chefs, sommeliers and vintners from throughout the United States, engaging guests in a variety of events and classes.
"The last week in October will no doubt become a favorite time of year for wine and food aficionados visiting Half Moon Bay, as we present a world-class culinary learning environment during 'Inside the Kitchen,'" said Paul Ratchford, general manager. "Our partnership with Gourmet launches our educational program to new heights, and elevates even further our resort's tradition of offering the best in wine and food."
Events include: An Opening Night Benefit Dinner for Meals on Wheels of San Francisco, Inc., featuring chefs Michael Mina, Nancy Oakes, Roland Passot, Hubert Keller and William Werner joined by sommeliers Larry Stone, Richard Betts, Danielle Price, Eugenio Jardim and Matthew Turner plating, finishing and pairing a five-course meal for 250 guests, live in The Ballroom, on Friday, Oct. 28. Four culinary classes taught by experts including Sara Moulton and Michael Green, on Sat., Oct. 29. A Grand Cru Wine Dinner on Sat., created by the executive chefs from The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park - both French Master Chefs - paired with Grand Crus from Burgundy and first growth wines from Bordeaux. A "Field Trip" outside the kitchen to nationally-award winning Harley Farms Goat Dairy in Pescadero and Farmer John's Pumpkin Farm on Sunday morning, Oct. 30. A Chefs' Challenge competition, pitting two chefs from Napa against two from San Francisco. The Grand Tasting, featuring signature tastes from all five California Ritz-Carlton properties and The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park, presented in person by all six executive chefs, as well as a variety of boutique California wineries.
"Inside the Kitchen" offers food and wine lovers the ultimate fall getaway. The resort offers a range of overnight packages for the weekend, and many events can be attended by members of the community and outside guests.
