Stroller for On-the-Go

A Great Way to Get Around

by Gabrielle Miller

The Micralite Toro Stroller is an incredibly functional and stylish machine, perfect for little ones (and their parents) on the go! We have been having so much fun getting around in our “green machine” with our one-year old. This stroller has many unique and terrific design features; the most important ones to us have been its maneuverability and ease of folding and unfolding. But, other key features include that it is amazingly lightweight (only 19 pounds) and very sturdy on all paths. Also, included with the stroller are an air pump, an all-weather hood and a zip on rain cover.

One of my favorite elements of the Toro Stroller is that it has an incredibly smooth, easy reclining capability that silently and easily moves your child from a fully upright position to a mid-way position then to a fully reclined one. Our son loves the upright position. Not being a napper, he looks as if he is on a wonderful amusement park ride, sitting like a big boy with a terrific harness holding him in and a padded handlebar (which is removable) for him to hold onto. If your child likes to snooze, or relax, the flawless movement to reclining would be amazing. (We can only hope that number two baby will appreciate this feature and enjoy strolling off to sleep!)

The way this beautiful stroller maneuvers is phenomenal. I don’t know the precise turn radius, but I can tell you that it has been the easiest stroller for us in and out of shops. We even went hiking with it last week and I was so grateful for its ease of use. Being 8 months pregnant, it was hot, and we had to go up a hill. Whew! Luckily, this stroller is light as a feather (my 25 lb. son is not) and it easily worked its way through rocks and uneven path, gliding all the way up the hill.

I have to admit it took me a few tries to get the folding and unfolding down pat, but now I love its simplicity. This stroller is so compact when folded, we have been taking it on the commuter train, even in rush hour. It also stands upright well on its own when folded, a great feature.

Unlike many other models in the same rugged-yet-oh-so-urban category, this stroller comes with an awesome sun/rain shield. Also, the water-resistant fabric is so strong for the shade and the boot (which comes with the stroller) I feel very confident that it will last a long time.

It also has a well-placed under the seat shopping basket which easily snaps open to place a fair amount of items. Yesterday morning, on our walk, we gathered a newspaper, a half-gallon of milk, a sweater and books which all fit in without a problem.

Most recently, we have enjoyed using the newborn carrycot.  The bassinet is a sturdy, safe place that we placed our precious newborn in, cozy and warm in this great add-on.  There is a bar that needs to be removed to use this, which wasn’t too difficult to manage.  Also, this stroller can be fitted with several different car seat attachments, which is a true plus.
