Hunting for a Hotel where you will be treated Royally and be able to Eat like a King?Landschloss Fasanerie is a feather in the cap of the Romantik Hotel group.By Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady
Almost 300 years ago, a king found a perfect place for hunting and built this impressive structure for pleasure.
Today it continues to provide pleasure of the mind, body and palate in extraordinary ways. Situated only 45 minutes by car from France or Luxembourg, it makes a perfect base to explore several European countries, returning each night to your elegant home.
There are many reasons to come to this magnificent property. Walk through the nature reserve “Pfaelzer Wald” (Palatine-Wood with its castles and ruins Indulge in the spa Explore the ancient nearby city Just to relax in the splendor.

But the reason I most want to come back is for the food. On a 6 week trip that included several Michelin star restaurants, my very favorite meal of the whole trip was at this hotel. MEDITTERRANEAN RESTAURANT ORANGERIE.
Surprisingly, it was not in their Michelin star restaurant (which is equally divine) but in their Mediterranean Restaurant Orangerie. This winter-garden contrasts architecturally with the surrounding buildings but is the contemporary connection to the history of the Fasanerie which dates back to the 18th century.. Inspired by the nature of Southern Europe, the culinary team creates a light Mediterranean cuisine. The most memorable dish was a monkfish carpaccio. Even if you do not have time to dine there, enjoy a marvelous overview of the garden and ponds while you savor a slice of their homemade cakes and a good cup of coffee.
LANDHAUS RESTAURANTThe Landhaus Restaurant is housed in a former stable block. Cozily furnished in traditional German style, the restaurant bar is both rustic and nostalgic. The Saarland local specialties are prepared from local produce. The chef also prepares regional specialties from neighboring states. This is a great place for an evening of wine tasting. RESTAURANT TSCHIFFLIK The honors for this French Restaurant managed by legendary chef Joerg Glauben are almost longer than the wonderful menu. It has a Michelin star, 3 bonnets and 17 points at Gault Millau, 4 blue spoons, 3 suns and a red crown…and I am tempted to add and a partridge in a pear tree.
In summary, these honors all add up Restaurant Tschifflik being one of the 40 best restaurants in Germany and one of 11 best hotel-restaurants in Germany. But if you eat there, you may even rate it higher. The wine menu is from the vineyards of leading Palatinate wine producing areas, complemented by outstanding wines from France and Italy. Go. Eat. Enjoy. And I know that just like me, you will hardly be able to wait to get back. If you have read my stories about Romantik Hotels, you will know that are perhaps my favorite group. It is quite an honor that Roland Zadra, owner of Ladschloss Fansanerie was named Hotelier of the Year in 2000 and is currently president of Romantik Hotels International.
