Wharekauhau, a Luxurious Experience in New Zealand

Well, we sure can’t pronounce it, but we like what we see. Wharekauhau Lodge is based on a 5,000 acre working sheep farm overlooking the Palliser Bay. One of the world’s most exclusive retreats, it lies in the exceptional region of Martinborough, renowned for its Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes.

While there is much to entice you to visit, the focus at Wharekauhau this summer is on the dining experience. Their food philosophy is simple: what's fresh, in season and in the neighborhood. Dishes are largely created from the lodge gardens, the farm and the region, wherever possible.

And now, the lodge’s Wharekauhau Cookbook is available. In its pages, you can learn some of their culinary secrets. Signature dishes are European contemporary with a New Zealand twist, featuring ingredients that are truly regional.

And, if you happen to be in New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, around lunch time, you can still enjoy dining at Wharekauhau. Thanks to their new grass small aircraft landing strip, you can fly in and land in front of the lodge in just a few minutes.

What’s not to love about this place!
