Is There Anything Better Than Godiva Chocolate?Edited by Madelyn MillerTHE LAUNCH OF THE G COLLECTION REDEFINES PREMIUM CHOCOLATE WITH ITS COUTURE STYLE CREATIONS Just in time for this season, Godiva Chocolatier launches a couture line that elevates the chocolate experience to a new luxurious level. The G Collection, a new assortment of hand crafted and hand decorated chocolates, is created exclusively for Godiva Chocolatier by acclaimed pastry chef Norman Love.
“G represents the fusion of my love of chocolate with my love of art,” says Love. “I believe people will take pleasure in the intense flavor of these chocolates as well as the whimsical and inspired design of each piece.” The G Collection engages all the senses like never before. The experience begins through the eyes. Opening the stylish G Collection gift box, fashioned in a rich brown with an apple green trim, reveals the distinctly modern chocolates. Love approached the design of each piece as an edible work of art, and his attention to detail is evident. Love is known for his application of hand painting techniques to chocolate, showcased in the passion orange yellow heart with abstract expressionist-like splashes and the air brushed colors found in many of the pieces. The G Collection chocolates are just as beautiful as they are sinfully delicious. Love’s founding principle behind the creation of the G Collection chocolates is the use of only the purest ingredients to ensure each piece has an explosive and rich flavor. Rooted in ganache, flavors such as Tahitian vanilla, Sicilian pistachio, and sweet Thai coconut milk are centerpieces of taste in the collection. Always an innovator in the industry, Love is the former Executive Pastry Chef for Ritz Carlton Hotels. His passion for sweets has landed him on Chocolatier Magazine’s Top 10 Pastry Chef’s list and USA Today’s Top 10 Artisan Chocolatier’s list.
“The G Collection signals an exhilarating new phase for Godiva,” says Godiva Chocolatier President Archbold van Beuren. “Love’s creations are an exciting new direction for our brand, which we know will resonate with Godiva’s customers and chocolate aficionados.” G Collection chocolates are available from November 28, 2003 through Valentine’s Day, 2004, in select Neiman Marcus stores, on NeimanMarcus.com, at Godiva boutiques in select cities, on Godiva.com/G or by calling 1-800-9Godiva. A variety of sizes will be offered, ranging from a 9-piece box retailing for about $25 to a 30-piece box retailing for about $70, averaging $100 per lb.
