A Good Reason to Eat Out for Dinner in Dallas on March 11Dining Out for Life Benefiting Bryan's House Set for March 11, 2004Sit down, savor a meal, save a life. On Thursday, March 11, thousands of Dallas-area diners will participate in Dining Out for Life, the annual fundraising event benefiting Bryan’s House. This one-day dining event invites the community to dine at one of more than 35 participating restaurants who have each pledged to donate 25 percent of the day’s proceeds to make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. In the past year, Bryan’s House has provided services to nearly 700 children and 250 families affected by HIV/AIDS. For more than 15 years, Bryan’s House has been here for children and families suffering because of the HIV epidemic. For children whose parents cannot provide care, Bryan’s House is a 24-hour loving, nurturing home. For others, Bryan’s House provides a respite for children to give families a needed break. Our mission is to help keep families together, saving the community valuable health and foster care dollars, and giving children and families the gift of life in the face of death. This one-day dining event invites the community to dine at participating restaurants where a portion of each bill will be donated to Bryan’s House, a non-profit pediatric HIV/AIDS service organization in Dallas that provides free medically-managed childcare, adolescent services and support services to nearly 700 children and 250 families affected by HIV/AIDS. Dining Out for Life is the largest AIDS fundraiser in the United States and is an event that occurs in more than 30 cities in the United States and internationally. WHEN: Thursday, March 11, 2004 WHERE: Participating restaurants throughout the Dallas metroplex. WHO: Master Chef Sharon Van Meter will serve as chairman for Dining Out For Life. Bryan’s House opened its doors in 1988 after two women, Lydia Allen and Stephanie Held, recognized the critical need for care for HIV-infected children. After moving to a new and larger facility in 2001, Bryan’s House was able to triple its childcare capacity create exciting new programs, such as the Bryan’s House Adolescent Program.
