The Latest in Take-Along-Toys

by Marilyn Loeser

I can image nomad children asking, “Are we there yet?” followed by, “I’m bored” as they and their parents traversed the unknown in search of food.

Children’s travel wants and needs haven’t changed much over the past few decades, but their choices certainly have. In addition to traditional coloring books, action figures and dolls, today’s youngsters have portable DVD players, video games and laptop computers to entertain themselves along the way as families make their way toward theme parks, national shrines and grandma’s house.

The latest in take-along fun is a travel version of the popular game Scene It?

All the fun of the original game is now packaged in a compact travel tin.

The TV version features TV clips, trivia questions and on-screen challenges from 50 years of TV’s most popular shows, including 24, The Brady Bunch and Alias!

The TV version is designed for 2 to 8 players, ages 13 and up.
Other take along versions include the 1st Edition Movie Scene It? To Go! and The On-the-Go Jr. Trivia Game! with movie, TV, sports and music clips that feature today’s hottest stars, including Frankie Muniz, Hilary Duff and Shaquille O’Neal.

Jr. editions are for players, ages 8 and up.

Anywhere you can play a portable DVD player, you can play these take-along games. With their own portable case, DVD, magnetic movers and game board, they’re perfect for trains, planes and automobiles.
