The 29th Annual Dallas International Guitar Festival and MusicFestEdited by Madelyn Miller, the travellady The Dallas International Guitar Show and MusicFest is the world's largest and oldest guitar show, blending musicians, fans, collectors and celebrities together into one musical extravaganza. Visitors can buy, sell, trade, or just browse among the thousands upon thousands of new and vintage guitars, basses, amps, banjos, mandolins, straps and strings, effects pedals, keyboards, music memorabilia and more. Rub elbows with guitar legends and up-and-coming artists.
The 29th Annual Dallas International Guitar Show and MusicFest will be expanded to three days—April 21, 22 and 23, 2006, at Dallas Market Hall. Market Hall is located at 2200 Stemmons Freeway in Dallas, and provides ample free parking for show attendees. Returning again for this year’s show is Drum World, 14,000 square feet of “anything and everything related to drums,” including live performances and clinics by world-class drummers. What the Dallas Guitar Show has done for the guitar, Drum World will do for drums. At Drum World, you’ll see manufacturers and retailers, drums, percussion, and accessories as well as collectors and dealers of vintage drums, parts and memorabilia from all over the world, all for sale or trade. For more information about Drum World, including dealer applications, visit www.guitarshow.com online. Listen to the best local and regional bands at MusicFest's indoor and outdoor stages, including contestants and winners of the Texas 10 Under 20 contest co-sponsored by the Dallas International Guitar Show and MusicFest and Texas Music Project. This expanded Show of Shows will feature 500 booths, exhibits and clinics, and live concert performances on three stages. There will also be exhibits by Texas Musicians Museum that includes memorabilia from legends like Dallas’ own Stevie Ray Vaughan. An All Star Jam will be held Saturday night, featuring many of the most highly respected performers in the industry playing together for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There will also be additional live concerts Friday night on the outdoor stages.
